I loved reading this. I've been struggling with my anxious attachment for years now, and you're absolutely right - when you try to change your behaviour, it's not enough of a mental shift to actually heal yourself. Only when I begin to tell myself words of affirmation, when I consol my inner child and when I act like the person I want to become rather than the person I used to be, do I begin to see myself calm down and get more secure in my relationship.
